What is Touraine?

Touraine is a wine region located in the Loire Valley, around the French city of Tours. 

The main grape varieties are cabernet franc, chenin blanc and sauvignon blanc.

The climate there is cool continental (short and rainy summer, high continentaly, average temperature less than 16.5°C during the vine growing season).

More than 130 million bottles are produced in Touraine each year by 1,600 winegrowers, 11 cooperatives and 125 wine merchants.
