Vézelay in brief

  • 100% white wines
  • 100% chardonnay

What is Vézelay?

Vézelay is the name of a city and a communal appellation located in the Grand Auxerrois wine region in northern Burgundy.

The arrival of phylloxera at the end of the 19th century almost caused the total disappearance of the vineyard, despite its existence since the 1st century and a peak at 500 hectares in the 18th century.

The climate is cool continental. Main risks associated with viticulture are spring frosts, hail and fungal diseases.
