Campania is a region located in southern Italy, bordered to the southwest by the Tyrrhenian Sea and to the northeast by the Apennines.

The climate is warm MediterraneaN (hot and dry summer, rain in winter, low continentality,  average temperature between 18.5°C and 21°C during the vine growing season).

The most prestigious appellations, located northeast of the city of Naples, on hilly areas, are Taurasi DOCG**, Aglianico del Taburno DOCG (based on aglianico), Fiano di Avellino DOCG (fiano) and Greco di Tufo DOCG (greco).
