Albert Boxler
Domaine Albert Boxler historic estate dates back to 1673, when Jean Boxler began making wine in Niedermorschwihr (simple name, I know) near Colmar.
It has remained in the family ever since, with each generation adding to its legacy.
In 1946, Albert Boxler gave the domaine its name, focusing on estate bottling and acquiring prime parcels, especially on the steep slopes of the Grand Cru Sommerberg, so steep that some areas had to be terraced.
Today, Jean Boxler manages 14 hectares, including plots in the Grand Crus Sommerberg and Brand.
The estate grows Alsace’s noble varieties -riesling, pinot gris, gewurztraminer, and muscat- along with pinot blanc, pinot noir, sylvaner, and chasselas, making monovarietal cuvées, a hallmark of winemaking in Alsace.
